I am a big fan of thinkpads and currently own a T470, with previous ownerships going all the way back to pentium 3 era (t-30). I like apple products, to a degree, they are usually well designed (from a users perspective, not for repair), made of better than average components (I still have a mid 2010 13 that I can use) and last a long long time with about average care. Even then almost none of the dual cores are able to outperform. The cons, heavy, aged design and hardware, battery only lasts about 3-4 hrs, did I mention heavy? Pros: cheap, considering that its got what would be top spec in terms of ram and storage even by todays standards, anything that apple sells new that is able to outperform this machine (execption of the retina air) costs over two grand. its the quad core i7 2.6 with 16gb ram and 1tb ssd. I am writing this post on a mid 2012 15in that I bought used in february this year for 375 us.
